Biography
Marek Mezyk is a documentary photographer living in Hoboken, New Jersey. The collection of work on the website is from personal projects.
Marek started his photographic journey at the age of 15 with a 35mm Minolta camera and it has continued ever since. Starting out in a wet darkroom mixing chemistry and developing black and white film, he worked with 35mm, medium format and 4x5 cameras before turning to the digital process in 2008.
Marek's focus continues to be on images that invoke the best representation of the place, moment or person. His influences include Henri Cartier-Bresson along with the work produced over the years by the Magnum Agency photographers. Marek's pursuit and dedication in continuing to evolve as a photographer has been influenced by participating in workshops with photographers such as Mary Ellen Mark and Ed Kashi.
